Rachel’s Record

Veteran Prosecutor, Not a Politician

Rachel is a lifelong conservative and a veteran prosecutor with a record of enforcing the rule of law, locking up criminals, and keeping our community safe.

As your Maricopa County Attorney, Rachel’s dedicated her career to protecting children and families by prosecuting crimes against children, cracking down on organized retail theft, prosecuting drug and border-related crimes, ensuring the integrity of our legal system, defending the Constitution, and leading teams of prosecutors who hold criminals accountable.

Border Security & Fighting the Biden Administration

Joe Biden’s open border policies have endangered our community, leaving Arizona alone on the front lines as fentanyl floods across the border. Half of all fentanyl in the U.S. streams through Arizona, and fentanyl/opioid overdoses kill 150 people every day.

Rachel aggressively prosecutes traffickers who bring this poison into our community, killing Arizonans of all ages. No matter the age or background, she is fighting against cartels and those who bring fentanyl into our community and pushing back on the failed policies of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Proven Record of Keeping You and Your Community Safe

While cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, and Seattle turn a blind eye to rising crime, Rachel does not back down. She will not accept the rash of organized retail theft that has consumed other cities, so she is cracking down hard to ensure it cannot take root here.

There is no excuse for ignoring the rule of law, and Rachel is committed to protecting our neighborhoods, businesses, and communities.

Cleaning Up the Mess

When Rachel took over as Maricopa County Attorney in April 2022, the office was overwhelmed by backlogs. More than 800 felony DUI cases had not been prosecuted, with another 10,500 cases that were never reviewed or filed. Dozens of officer-involved shootings had also never been reviewed as the law requires, leaving officers and their departments stuck with no resolution.

Rachel and the new team under her leadership, diligently worked through these cases and to bring down the backlog in less than just two years.

Our Men and Women in Blue Back Rachel Mitchell

As a result of the Defund the Police movement, Arizona saw radical judges and prosecutors throughout the country seek lower or no bail for dangerous and violent criminals. Under Rachel’s leadership, we changed course.

Now, prosecutors seek the highest possible bail amounts for those who commit dangerous and violent crimes. It’s no wonder Rachel is the only candidate endorsed by the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association and Arizona Fraternal Order of Police.
